Skin Revision Procedures

An in-house Skin Revision Clinic is also available for patients of The Ashbrooke Cosmetic Surgery to enjoy. Some of the treatments on offer include:

 

Microdermabrasion

This is a virtually painless procedure that requires no downtime and is a wonderful alternative to laser or chemical peels because it is non-invasive and non-surgical. Normal activities may be resumed immediately after treatment and skin is free of redness, irritation and particle contamination.

 

Microdermabrasion removes the topmost layer of skin by gently abrading and exfoliating the skin with natural diamond chips whilst at the same time vacuuming the dead skin cells away in a sterile and controlled manner. Removing this outer layer of skin leaves a softer, more vibrant texture and promotes new growth.

 

Patients will experience smoother and cleaner skin after the very first treatment, though a treatment series can vary from four to ten sessions depending on the condition being treated and the type of skin. Microdermabrasion is effective for fine lines, some pigmentation spots, acne and acne scars, sun damaged skin, extraction of blackheads and whiteheads, and clearing oily skin.

  

 

Dermasound Plus

This is a brand new aesthetics technology based on a medically proven process that uses low frequency ultrasound to loosen and remove dead cells and debris from the skin’s surface. The technology gently restores the natural electrical charge to individual skin cells and reproduces tiny, temporary openings into skin tissue. Laser Resurfacing

The ability to reduce wrinkling on facial skin is one of the most important uses of cosmetic lasers in modern medicine. Newer lasers, such as the carbon dioxide and erbium:YAG lasers, can remove much of the creases that come with age and sun exposure, leading to a dramatic reduction in the appearance of the age of the face.

 

Changes in pigmentation to the face, the so-called liver spots and pigment spots can also be dramatically improved with laser treatment, leaving the skin refreshingly cleaner and smoother. Improvements in appearance can take place for up to 6 months after the procedure.

 

Laser re-surfacing of the face can also improve some types of acne scarring as well as remove much of the irregular pigmentation that occurs over the face associated with aging. Areas that can be treated with laser resurfacing include:
